The forum on ICRA website works very similarly with what is common in social media. You can decide to follow or not a discussion.
Notifications will be received for followed discussions, but various notifications modes are possible. You have to decide which mode fits you more by adjusting the settings of the forum functionality. For this, you have to right click on your icon and select settings, as shown in the attached image.
